Sometimes the best guide is someone who's already walked the path. Having spent over three decades managing seasonal businesses in Vermont, I've experienced both the successes and challenges that come with building something from the ground up.

My journey hasn't been a straight line. From operational and financial management to navigating HR challenges, I've learned that success in Vermont's unique business landscape often means adapting to changing seasons - both literal and figurative. I've felt the satisfaction of a healthy balance sheet and weathered the gut-punch of missed opportunities. Each experience has shaped how I approach helping other business owners.

Beyond running my own businesses, I've had the privilege of serving our community as a town selectman and Vermont state representative. Today, I continue this commitment to our business community as an instructor at Central Vermont Community College's Business Program.

These varied roles - business owner, public servant, educator, and consultant - have given me a unique perspective on what it takes to build and sustain a successful business in Vermont.
